So, as we work towards this, I am forced to ask. What is it we want?

Many people know what they DON'T want, fighting, hate, hardship, basically unpleasantness of all kinds. Does anyone have any idea what a peaceful world would look like? What it would be like?

Every society has their ideas and their plans, some grow so powerful they are tried. Some you know as communism, democracy, anarchy, aristocracy, and so on. Most of these are started with the best of intentions, dreamed of with the highest of ideals. Almost all seem to be founded with the idea that you and I, the general population can not be trusted to make the best decisions for ourselves.

We are all individuals, and if poled, I think even if we could come up with a way to all live together happily, no one person's would match another's.

I personally think the key is not a common way to govern, but rather that every person come to a point in their own morality and personal responsibility to not need to be governed at all. This really isn't as hard a task as you may think. There's only one rule that needs to be followed.

Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you. Of course, this needs to be done with out compromise, which seems to be almost impossible. We can probably agree that for true peace to reign we would need to live this way, but then the question is begged. Who starts?

The problem is, that the things we enjoy and value, are also the things that hold us back. Finding peace requires letting them all go. Our reality is dualistic, and for our joys to be portrayed, our fears and hates must be realized, to give them a back drop. This understanding is possibly one of the hardest to grasp for most people, and even harder for people to live with.

Our universes are relative. Meaning right and wrong are relative, realities are relative. Don't believe me? Just look at our past. The world was flat. It was okay to burn witches and marry thirteen year old girls. The sun was the center of the universe. Now we see these things are foolish, but you have to ask yourself, 2,000 years from now, what things do we believe completely, might someday be viewed as silly?

I think the picture that goes with this pod says it all. "Life is a game." We are here to enjoy it's up and downs. Sometimes it's hard to see and understand that. To come to a more peaceful place requires that we give up much of the game, because you can't have the good with out the bad that goes with it.

What does a peaceful world look like? One were people can put aside differences. Were no man is an enemy. A world were people have endless patience, and unconditional love is not just an abstract idea. One were there are no justifications, and 'doing unto others' applies to all people. A world where money is silly, and people work hard on everything they do, and believe their neighbor does the same. A place where happiness comes from with in, and not from outside conditions. A place with out possessions and possessiveness. When judgments are no longer required, attacks are seen as insane, rather than requiring counterattack.

If you can't claim to be or do all these things, I think it's pretty clear what needs to be done. How do you get there? Perspective.
